Lawyers in Action is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free legal aid and services to individuals who are unable to afford legal representation. Our mission is to ensure that everyone has access to justice, regardless of their financial situation, making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
We believe that legal aid should be a basic right for all individuals. We understand that navigating the legal system can be complex, overwhelming, and expensive, which is why we are committed to providing free legal assistance to those in need. Our team of experienced lawyers and legal professionals are passionate and dedicated about helping people find the solutions they need to address their legal challenges, including, but not limited to, legal consultation and advice, legal knowledge workshops, seminars, conferences, etc., representing the victims, accused, petitioners, etc. before various courts, tribunals, forums, etc. throughout the country, initiating litigation through writ petitions, PILs, etc. to address any important or wider cause. We work tirelessly to ensure that those in need have full access to the justice system.
We believe that access to legal aid is essential for promoting justice and equality in society. By providing free legal assistance to those in need, we are helping to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to protect their rights and interests. We are committed to advocating for systemic changes that promote access to justice for all.
Here is the brief of our work scope:
Legal Consultation:
We provide free consultation and advice to the aggrieved person who seeks our help. During this consultation, we listen to his concerns and assess the legal issues he is facing. We then provide him with information on his legal options and the possible outcomes of each option.
Case Assessment:
We conduct a thorough case assessment to determine the best course of action for the aggrieved person. We gather all the relevant information, including documents and evidence, and analyse it to identify legal strategies that could help him to achieve the goals.
Legal Representation:
We assign dedicated and qualified lawyers to the case to represent the aggrieved person before various courts, tribunal, forums, etc. throughout the country. Our lawyers have expertise in various areas of the law and are committed to fighting for the rights of the people.
Regular Communication:
We keep aggrieved person informed about the progress of his case every step of the way. We believe that regular communication is essential to building trust and ensuring that the aggrieved person has a voice in the legal process.
Follow-up Services:
After the case is resolved, we provide follow-up services to ensure that the aggrieved person has the tools and resources he need to move forward. This may include referrals to other services or organizations that can provide further support.
Public Interest Lawyering:
Whelmingly practicing public interest lawyering to promote and protect the rights and interests of underrepresented and marginalized individuals and groups. We typically focus on legal issues that have broader social, religious, economic, or political implications and are critically important to advancing social justice and promoting the public good towards our strong commitment to social justice and a willingness to work in often challenging and resource-constrained environments.
Collaboration with Eminent Lawyers and Law Firms:
Working through collaborating with eminent lawyers and law firms can be a beneficial strategy for us to expand our reach and impact, and we appoint them as our associated free legal aid providers.
We may not have territorial limitations in providing our free legal aid services throughout the territory of India, but we have funding limitations. Funding is critical for us to achieve our goals and make a positive and constructive impact on society. Without funding, we cannot provide our free legal aid support and services needed to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those oppressed and marginalised individuals and groups.
